Vin Decoding

was wondering the year on of a quad

I was told it was the 8th digit
well that is a letter on my frame


any body know?

also was wondering engine year
(was told by dealer only way to tell was to tear apart and see if the 07 piston side oiler was installed)

i dont about how to tell the engine year.

the 10th digit in the VIN is the last digit in the year it was manufactured. ;]

On a car you count back from the end 8 digits and that number will be a 6 for 2006 or 4 for 2004
