Here is a picture of my plug after 2 passes on a new plug. Air temp is about 75 and my water temp was reading around 180. My bike is a 310 esr 7 with trx 5 pipe and 38mm A/S. I have a 172 main, 50 pilot and a DGH in the middle position with 2 turns on the air screw. The bike has 180 lbs compression and Im running premium pump gas. Im 200 lbs and Im at about 4800 ft elevation. What do you think of my jetting?

I would say its a little white...(lean). I like for mine to be darker than that.

I have pretty much same setup and I have a 182 main now. Had a 185 main and was too rich. Pilot 50, DDJ neeble 2nd clip from bottom.

I just got my esr 310 running this weekend going through breakin and jetting now.

esr 310 trx9 port pump gas dome
trx11 pipe
38mm airstryker
kn filter
rad valve power reeds

180 main
55 pilot
ddj needle 3rd clip
2000 ft elevation range

I'm sure my pilot is to small won't idle very well now that i leaned the needle.

Still bogging in the upper rpm range and getting black plug readings.

Am I right that with every 2000 ft of elevation decrease you go up by one main jet size to richen it up?

The higher the elevation = smaller jets. The higher you get the less air there is so you need less fuel.

first off, ESR always requests a BR9ES and you're running an 8. Also, the ceramic has to be read way down inside the threads for the proper read, which we can't see from the pic. Better toss a 9 in there and re-post. my .02

btw, that's reeeeeealy close to my jetting specs at 1200ft here. same exact setup to the Tee

I put a 178 in before I saw the post about the spark plug and it has more of tan colored ring and looks better to me.
Is everybody else running a 9?

8 or 9..do ya understand about heat ranges ?

I been told that you read the heat range by looking at the strap. On that plug the colored changed about half way on the strap which would indicate a safe heat range?

I run a 9 spark plug in mine. That 8 is going to burn a little hotter.
