Looking for a good, reasonably priced handlebars for my YFZ. I've had 7/8" Renthal's in the passed, and been pretty pleased, but there are so many choices out there. Looking for some suggestions, and why. Thanks.

The Softbars and Flexx bars are really nice, but more than I want to spend. I'm looking at both Renthal and Pro Taper bars. 1 1/8" bars that much better than 7/8"?

Hi there

I know the Flexx are expensive, but they are one of the best "bang for buck" additions I ever made.

That is for enduro type stuff, it may not be so helpful on the track.

tag t2's i've wrecked on these things sooooooo hard and they've never bent. they're also fatter in the middle so they're less likely to bend

i've always stuck by standard 7/8" renthals. i rolled on those bars, crashed into trees lost it down a cliff and the bars held up better than levers, shocks and a-arms. but maybe i got lucky.

Go ahead and upgrade to the 1 1/8" bars. They are much better than 7/8" bars from my experience, I have run both. I like the 1 1/8" bars better mainly because of the lack of the crossbar. This allows the bars to flex downward when you land off of jumps or take a big hit. Not as great as the Flexx bars, but definitely takes the shock out of it much better than 7/8" bars, which I find to be too rigid and unforgiving. The 1 1/8" bars are super strong as well, i've had a couple high speed rollovers and i've never bent a set. I went from Renthal 7/8" bars, to Tag X5 7/8", then to Tag T2 1 1/8", and now I have Fly Aerotapered 1 1/8" bars. The fat bars are where it's at if you don't have the cash for the Flexx bars ;)

hey guys, sorry to resurrect an old thread but i just got some new 7/8 handlebars with a crossbar. I'm trying to put them on an 05 400ex and i was wondering if you guys new of any mounting kits that will let me keep my function lights and ignition. Im trying to stay around 50 to 100 bucks. Thanks for the help!
