I have a 300ex, stock except for filter and pipe.
definitely needs more power.
I am thinking of porting the head, and getting a cam. but I dont want to get a web cam. and in fact, if thats my only route Ill probably just stay stock bore, nto port the head and run the HC.
the Hot Cam is about 100 bucks cheaper and doesnt require hundreds more in hardwelded rockers.
I want to go with the 330 kit. but on hotcams website it shows with a pipe, the hot cam only gave a 1 hp peak gain, and about 1-2 more on top. will this cam even be able to let it breath enough as a 330?
I also have thought about the 405 where you have a 300 cylinder machined to fit a 400 ex sleeve. but id assume it would definately need a wilder cam than a HC STG1 to get the most out of it.
and with a WEB, will the valvetrain last as long as a HC setup would if I dont get anything too crazy?
