I have a 2006 TRX 400EX, I have an BIG GUN REV BOX
HMF IRONMAN SLIP-ON CARBON
FMF powerbomb header
RENTHAL FRONT SPROCKET 13T
RENTHAL REAR SPROCKET 37T
RENTHAL R3-2 520 O-RING CHAIN, and K&N air filter with the K&N powerlid,Stage 2 hotcams camshart, and the wiseco 440 big bore kit at 12.5-1 compression ratio, i also have the dyno jet kit, im getting ready to switch the stock card for a 04 trx 450r carb. But with that all being said after i got the big bore kit done last summer i started to notice a ticking or a knocking sound coming from the top end or lets just say from the engine area, it especially gets louder as the bike is running for a long period of time, now i run 20w 50 oil and i use 91 unleaded gas with a cheap octane booster additive. I am hoping that some of u guys might have some good info for me of what the ticking or knocking sound might be coming from!!and also any good mods u might have for me im getting addicted to working on my lil baby, and what are the best teeth ratio for the front and back sprocket for overall performance? and since im putting all this out there im having troubles with sharp turns with all the newly added power, any suggestions with new A-arms or anythang that might help?? Thanks guys for the help!!!!

X2, you need higher octane. And for a 440 I would say 15/38 gearing would be a good starting point.

With that compression you need 100+ octane, what you're hearing is spark knock.

Octane booster is crap, a complete waste of money.
