I purchased a FMF jet kit sometime last year for my YFZ. Originally, I had someone else rejet it. What my confusion is with now, is the jet sizes.

I toke the yfz apart yesterday to check the valves. Valves needed no adjustments, after a good 40 hard hours on the motor. I decided to go ahead and do the cam mod. No problems there. I started the quad up, ran it for a second, then checked the plug. It looked kinda white, so I decided to go up a jet size on the main and see what happens.

I checked the jets I was running, and I had a 48 pilot and 150 main jet in. I went up the next size to a 165 and the quad seemed to run a little better. The jet kit includes main jet sizes 126, 130, 134, 142, 146, 150, and 165, a different size fuel needle, and a 48 pilot jet. I have very few mods done and im using the biggest main jet in the kit?

Now according to this chart, (fmf/dyno sizes are the same, I believe) Im wondering why are the jet sizes in my kit jump so far apart? It would seem that im running way to rich... Maybe im not understanding this chart?

Can anyone clear this up for me?

I don't know what the hell that chart means but I can tell you this... The jets FMF sent you are worthless other than the 165. I would think any of those jets are too lean to use.

Thats what I was thinking... I didn't understand why they gave me all those different main jet sizes when im runnin the largest one already. I had the 150 in there before I did the cam mod, and it seemed to run good, but maybe a little bit on the lean side.

And I found that chart off another fourm. My jet kit didn't come with any kind of conversion chart.

Next time im just gonna buy individual kehein jets. But it also doesn't tell me what size needle I am running. And the kit only came with 1 pilot jet. And I would think the 48 would be to rich, but it seems to be fine.

I can't complain really because everything seems to be running properly. I just can't make much sense out of this jet kit.
