I purchased a 05 honda 400 ex. It was stock and had nothing done to it. I love the 400 but i rode my friends 450R and that sh*t is crazy fasst. Anyway I started out researching part online and settle on a few to put here. I just recieved a jet kit, fuel line, fuel filter and I am waiting on my exhaust.

Was doing some research about the sparks racing key and the rev box that i purchased, Just relized that the rev box already messes with the timing curve. so what should i go with the key or the rev box? either way one of them is for sale lol

You should be able to run both with a stock engine. The woodruff key advances the static timing (the point in the rotation of the crank shaft where the flywheel triggers the spark impulse). The CDI changes the spark advance curve. The fuel/air mixture burns at a constant rate, so the CDI takes whatever that base advance is and advances it even more relative to engine RPM to get the mixture burning sooner so that the explosion reaches the peak pressure at the correct point.

Just run the highest octane pump gas available, and if you get pinging or knocking under acceleration, try switching back to the stock CDI.
