Rebuild top end 416, ran 150 laps at track, was jumping over small hill and then quad start to bog down. Returned home and remove air filter, ran a little better. Remove hose from air cleaner to carb and ran better but when I install hose back on bog came back.

Info would be great

Is your cable easy to pull with the throttle? My slide came loose one day and it ran fine till the needle had to start moving then it would just bog down. Just a thought for you. I didn't even think about checking it. steve

clean your carb, a jet may be clogged. one time my main jet fell out, it was just sitting on the float, and when i pushed the throttle it would bog very bad. but it will idle fine.

if you removed your air filter and it ran better i don't think it's a leak, but check and see if the air boot (where it bolts to the cylinder) is tight.

I disconnected the large tube that connects to the carb from the air filter, it run better, but as soon as I put the tube back on and push throttle the bog returns. The engine is running very hot.

Yup. You have to start with cleaning the carb. Have to eliminate all of the obvious stuff.
