Valves, decompression, and jetting have to be spot on for it to crank good.

Clutch has to be in good shape too.

is it in neutral? If not, try that. Otherwise, jetting, valves, and decompressor.

Give it 2 quick squirts of gas before you kick it over and it will fire right up. Works everytime on my 08. Just dont give it gas while kicking it.

That might work better with an FCR carb, but with my stock carb on my 05, I can't even think about toughing the gas till it's running. And If I try to start in neutral, everyone that starts in first will be long gone, so I always start in gear.

The 05 still has an accelerator pump on it. So it will still help it

Either your clutch basket is grooved, or your clutch is not adjusted properly.

if you removed your stock clutch lever. the wires that were on the lever need to be connected together.
