Just found an 01 raptor rear shock that the reservoir is attached to the shock, not on a tube for remote mounting.
Should this still fit my EX or will the attached reservoir be in the way and hit something / not fit in place?

from what i've heard it's supposed to bold right up no mods needed. it only takes 20 minutes to change so check and see. make sure to run the shock through the travel to make sure nothing hits or binds up. let us know how it went!

Interesting!!! Never heard this before. Definitely let us know what your findings are. I am assuming that this would work on a 250X too since the 250X and 300EX are basically the same.

Going to have to wait to find out, if ever. While I was earning a living yesterday someone else bought the raptor. It was all there, didn't run. $200 It was gone when I called after work,
I lagged, I lost. *LOL*

The 01 is the only rear Raptor rear shock with a Remote Ressi. All the other years have a Piggyback. If you buy one with a Piggyback you have to cut one of the intake tubes to get it to fit. With the remote it will bolt right up. I have an 01 For sale if you are looking to buy

Lonestar, not right now. At the price for the entire "beater bike" I was going to go for it. Figured I could keep the shock, rebuild it, and still make out like a bandit. (I am a CHEAP so and so sometimes)
Plus I just dropped a cylinder off at the machine shop with the new piston for boring.

rumor has it that the raptor rear shocks don't last on the 300ex's I heard they blow the resevoir! just a little heads up!

yea, the 01 raptor shocks are famous for blowing the bladder, so you basically loose all adjustment, and even if fixed you are not garunteed that it will not happen again,

and yes with any newer raptor shock (post 2001) you will need to cut the left side tube that runs into your airbox
