I missed the exposure by just a little and the white on the cheek got hot, but I loved the pose and the feather:p

Hay pappy nice shots. Reminds me of Gustav Verderber. http://www.sojournsinnature.com
you ever heard of him? He does a lot of very nice stuff. It amazes me the patience it takes to get the best shots. I definitely prefer letting someone else take the pics.

Yup long time no quad :( I got the itch again though last week and had to go get a couple :)
He has done a lot of national geographic shoots but he also lives around here and does a few shows a year in a gallery my friend owns so I get to see all his new work.

He has some killer stuff for sure!

Doing wildlife takes some serious learninga nd time, and when its wild wildlife(not petting zoo stuff) it can be even longer:p

A guy I know on another site just took some shots of a fox that are probably among the best in teh world, and he has been trying for these shots for several years!!!

last summer Gustav spent 8 hours laying on his stomach to get a picture of a heron on the beach at my buddys place last year while we spent the day wakeboarding. Every lap we did we would see him there thinking why hasnt he moved at all but then at the end of the day when we came in he had taken some absolutely amazing shots.

Oh no doubt. Thats why it cracks me up when people say "Man, what camera do you use, it takes great pictures"...lol...the gear is only part of the end result:p

yup. I'll be the first to admit that he can take better pictures with my $100 camera than I could with his.
