400Ex with Black Frame?

I just dropped off my frame at the Powder Coating place. My frame and sub frame will be done in Mirro Black.

I need some ideas for A arm and Plastic Color. My options for a arms are (Red, Blue, Black, Hammertone, And Silver Vein)

Post some pictures of Black framed 400Exs.

And tell me what you think will look best for plastic and a arm colors.

id say go with red, the only reason is becuase i think black and blue or black and green with make the quad look like a toy..id say go with red i think its a good combination

Have you considered a simulated chrome powder? I know it is more like a bright silver than a chrome... But still worth thinking about if it is an option.

For the plastic... Honda Red!:)

I would go with Red or Hammertone A-Arms, and Swingarm, then Chrome Stem. Red plastic too. Full Bore or Stock, Maier also would be nice. I like the stock with a Quadtech hood.

id say go with red for the arms..and white plastics..with the red going down the middle like the stock plastics

I can also get my Top a arms chromed. As well as my Swing arm and stem.

The stem and Swinga rm are deff going to be chrome. I have the option to get top a arms in chrome if I want to.

Don't do a Chrome swingarm if your not going to run a skid plate, the chrome won't last long. Plus a lot of dirt is in and around on the swingarm so I wouldn't do chrome. I still like the setup in the picture the best, with just chrome top arms and stem..... Red or Dark Blue plastic too....

I currently have a gloss black frame and red plastic. What I plan on doing is:

Factory red plastic with no graphics
Gloss black frame
Gloss black lower a arms
Silver metallic or chrome upper a arms
Gloss black swingarm or maybe a gloss red
Chrome or gloss black subframe
Chrome steering stem

Add to this plenty of polished, chromed, and pc'ed goodies and you get one "blingin" ride.

Red Plastic with Black quad tech hood and black gas tank cover and seat cover

Or

I think Farr ran a Black Frame/Subframe with Hammertone A-Arms and Swingarm on his 450 last season. Just have the stem and top arms chromed. You could also do a red swingarm and bottom arms like Rico is doing....

Frankly quite a few.......a search on the subject of polishing will bring up a lot of stuff........mostly so i dont have to type it again:p


but i use stuff from www.eastwoodcompany.com my buffing motor was about $500.00 and there is a multitude of little things in addition to that buffing motor that i use............

thanks.......its been though a lot of changes.........

heckit even used to have yellow headers (base coat of ceramic, middle coat of high heat yellow with a top coat of read pearl..but the pearl was hard to see in the pics) to match the factory grahpics:D

Chris your quad makes me drool so much. lol I think I see some dirt in the picture of your sweet shock springs, on the under side of the fender looks like there is some dirt there or maybe thats just the pic, lol

Nope...its dirt:p

must have missed that part somehow;)


actually when i wipe the plastic down it gets all static like and the dust that gets moved around by the furnace sticks to it...........thats why they are all covered......to keep the dusting to a minimum............LOL:D
