So my 2002 400ex was smoking on decel, so I ordered a new piston,rings,valve seals, all new gaskets. I put them in/on broke it in properly. I was riding today and people behind me said im smoking again on decel. WHATS GOING ON HERE!??! Im just about ready to get rid of this quad.

dumb question but did you do an overbore? just thought if the sleeve was a little tore up from the old piston then maybe it is letting a little oil past it. Try to do a leakdown test on it

Alright, this was stock bore. I bought a stock piston. The crankcase breather is that hose coming out of the bottom end cases right?

yes, see if its passing oil through it. could be you have a clogged oil filter or u put it in backwords

just becuase its smoking doesnt mean its your piston and rings lol valve seals, 1 hr at home and a disassembelled head and your good to go after 5$ in parts, i can almost guarentee its your valve seals.

I did my vavle seals...so your wrong. I also did hone my cylinder. Im going to get some jets or maybe the 450r carb. If its not sold in a few weeks

Did you check the compression before and after the rebuild
