Water Pump Diagnosis ?

What are the signs of the water pump starting to fail ? Or does your motor just overheat and eventually seize the top end .....

Also, what part of the water actually fails e.g. bearing, seal, etc.

Lastly, how do you check the integrity of the pump ? Or does it get rebuilt everytime you do a fresh topend as a preventative maintenance item ....

On mine, I would usally get antifreeze in the oil, but that was just the seal. If it is not turning at all, then you have broken the fingers off the impeller shaft.

My experience is either they run or they don't.
