And it was strange.
It had threads almost all the way to the top eye, had the same bottom spacing as my 86 but overall length was almost 1 3/4" shorter.
Could this be for a 300EX?? or a shortened R shock for flattrack??
I passed on it either way but told the seller that i would let him know if i found anything out.
Heres the specs
(eye to eye) is 13 3/4", width of top mount is 1 1/4", and width of bottom mount is 1 1/4" I.D. and 1 7/8" O.D

probably a 88-89 shock. if i remember correctly they were shorter than the 86 shocks because of a redisign of the rear shock/suspension

Could someone tell me what is the length on an 86-87 shock and what it is on the 88-89 ?

I would like to know so that I know for sure what I have.

Thanks

a 250r rear shock is typically 16 1/4 i believe. Thats not a 250r shock if its only 13 inches long. if it is it has been modded.

Hello everybody, I am the owner of the shock in question, I am very interested in more insight into what this shock is and what bike it would have been used for. I have posted it for sale with the information that I have gotten from others to what it could be used for but haven't really gotten a set it stone answer for its application.
As for PDXBigfoot, it was nice to meet you and hope that I didn't waste you time too bad last weekend, believe me I wasn't trying to!!

It was absolutly no problem at all. I was in Gresham anyway and needed gas as well.
Welcome to a great forum...there are alot of good guys here and tons of knowledge.
Im looking for a place close to PDX to do some R&D thats not a mud hole or a busy MX track...any ideas??
Nice to meet you and i hope someone will solve the shock mystery.
Later
Jason
