i have a 04 rancher 350es 4x4 with 7500 miles. :)

I noticed the other day that there is about a half quart of oil in the airbox is that normal?

Also wondering what will happen if i run it without the lid on the airbox?

I have the same problem on my foreman there is almost a quart and a half in mine but nobody has any ideas? also you can run with the airbox lid off but you will need to jet your carb for the increase in air flow!

tommy warren u are right on some matters but i think that this may be a problem for many rancher and foreman drivers but i think that you should consider puting it in service and have it examined at

best of luck :)

I think I figured it out. It must have been when I changed the front cv axles I had it lifted up at the front for hours and the oil must have went through the crank case breather tube and into the air box I've drained the oil and it hasn't returned yet.

You are correct! anytime the rancher gets nose up or sideways or anyway but level oil gets in the air box!

anyone have a solution?
