SO I changed my shims today and got everything back together right (I guess) but the engine won't idle well. I ran it awhile to get it warm but it would hardly keep the lights on while idling. I know you can change the idle but after turning it far enough to tell a difference it would stay revved up when I gave it gas. What could be wrong?

i would get the idle set you need to blip the throttle after adjusting if than readjust if you need to.

Thats what I do but all that happens is it takes longer to get down to it's low idle. Could my idle adjustment be bad.

yea a airleak could do it, check to if the hot start is in tac, cause mine came loose and got super lean

Could it be messed up if the hot start still works.

probably not, but its still worth a look, when it happened to me, my hotstart did change the idle when it was runnin, so i looked at it, and it wasnt in the carb.
