Torque on front variator nut

What is the best way to re-install the front variator nut?

In the past I have done it with an impact on a low setting. This time I thought it was on OK and it came loose. Changed to next higher setting on impact and gave it a quick burst - hope all is OK now but I thought I would see what others do.

Are u sure you didn't put the washer on backwards cause that will make nut come loose.
Concave in towards the face plate

I put it back as it was. The high part/middle of washer was to the outside.
