is this realistic, or is it like the "tornado" for automobiles?

this is one of those touchy subjects....
some people will tell you that these are one of the best things for your motor, others will tell you its JUNK!!!

i am one that will say JUNK!!

i tried one one a 450r and a 400ex with a 450r carb. i didn't notice any improvement at any rpm range on either bike. judging by the seat of your pants dyno method.

I did read the post before I replied, with what I thought would be taken as a obvious joke,
and a old reference to the guy who was duped into buying the Brooklyn bridge many years ago.

sorry if you took offence to it.
there was none intended.

I wonder how many people have bought it? I know I wouldn't pay $100 for it. I would rather experiment and make my own, just to see if you could tell a difference.

seems like a restriction in the air way, lol i wouldent be surprised if it makes the motor run more rich

My Dyno guy said it can help if its a bone stock motor by disrupting the air mixture but only seemed to do much at low to mid RPM's. ??? I too have been wondering about the "TORNADO" I was looking for one that would fit the air boot (if it was cheap enough) I like the idea of concentrating the air stream.

Unlike the tornado, everything Iv'e read about these is positive. To me it seems like it would just block air flow, like the choke on the 400ex. Maybe I should haven't removed my choke:p

the revies on them things are hit and miss, there a little more responsive in larger bore applications but its not so much an air restriction but it channels the air more directly so the air isnt spinning in all different directions but a straight shot to the cylinder, suposable for a cleaner more efficient burn, i wouldnt exactly waist the money, your engine iwll like it but your wallet wont, your looking at more of a mpg rather than seat of the pants

2 bucks in sheetmetal, some measurements and a welder and time could make one of those.

It aint worth the cash otherwise.
