View Full Version : ESR Spark Arrestor Silencer???

How loud & obnoxious is the ESR Spark Arrestor/Silencer? I want to get rid of my older (repacked) Fat Boy 2, and go to something quieter, preferrably with a spark arrestor.

If I ever buy a brand new pipe in future, it'll most likely be a TRX-5; that's why I'm thinking ESR now instead of something like an FMF "Q".

I don't need it silent, I just dont' wanna be the loudest guy out there anymore.

i just bought an ESR TRX-6 off a fella on this forum so i have the same question. but i hear the ESr's make amazing power where you actually need it, as where others claim to do but haven't seen it. i have tried 4 different pipes on my 86 and the FMF is barely better than stock.

I believe my ESR silencer may be a little louder than my FMF powercoreII. I believe one reason is the FMF silencer points to the ground. I'm happy with my set up now.

I know that 8686 has an ESR spark arrested silencer. You may try PMing him if he doesn't respond to this thread.

Yeah I have an ESR spark arrestor silencer with a TRX5 pipe. I have fired it up but haven't had that quad out of the garage yet this spring. So it's hard to tell since it sounds pretty loud in the garage.

I have one. I don't think its any louder or quieter than the regular ESR silencer.

Thanks for your replies. I'm trying to get an idea of how it compares with other popular silencers on the market. To me, my Fat Boy is obnoxious. I like the sound, just not the noise. I guess it'd help if I had the chance to hear more R's out there.

Have you repacked your silencer lately?

Yep, that's one of the first things I did after buying my 'wheeler. Packed it chock full of FMF 2-stroke muffler packing. The old stuff wasn't that bad, but the new stuff isn't much better. I think my buddy's yzf450 with a White Bros or Warrior with E-Series is quieter at idle.
