i got a pair of works triple shocks for my 400 ex , i have stock arms , i have heard these shocks will work but they might raise the front of my quad up a little higher , they measure 16 "1/4 from top center bolt hole to bottom center bolt hole , i'm saving up for +2 a-arms , man those are alot of change , but i got a great deal on these shocks off a 250r , also who has the best deal on +2 a-arms , any input would be helpfull

My 2 cents... I would try them on and see how much it raises your front end up, and then let us know. I am guessing that the shocks were setup for plus 2 a-arms?? Anyway, I would still try them out and see how they feel... There should be now harm in doing that, plus you can measure the difference.

Good luck!:)

If they are from a 250R and you are putting them on your 400ex they will actually lower your front end. 250R shocks are actually shorter than 400ex shocks. I believe they are something like 1/4 of an inch shorter. They will work fine and many people do this. Those shocks will not raise your front end.

If they have preload adjustment, you can dial some sag into them, that will lower them.

I put works triple rates w/rezzies from a 250r on my 400 and didn't notice any change in ride height.
