z400 wiring problem i think

i got an 04 z400 and i believe there is a problem in the wiring system sumwhere but not sure where at. if i turn my key and ignition on n let it sit there the clutch cable and lever n perch will get warm n hot if on long enough... does anybody have any ideas as to what culd be making it do this? never encountered this problem b4 so im stumped here...

a freind had a simmler problem ,but it was the starter button ,got so hot it melted a hole in it and burend a spot on his thumb.
we took it all apart use air pressure to blow it clean . not long after that he sold it

About how long does it take to get hot?

Take starter apart sounds like wire is bare and touching perch will then burn hole and short out or weld it self to perch.
