OK so I am going to replace my stock steering stem because I need a little more height. So.....I know this is mostly rider prefrence but...what do you guys (and gals) seem to run ...(and like)....the +1 or +2. Now this is the info......I use Renthal fat bars I currently have a stock stem with a raised big bar clamp (probably only raised it 1/2 inch - 3/4 inch) im 5'9 and ride mostly motocross. Im feel like the +1 would be just right (gut feeling) but at the same time I dont feel like I would be able to tell much with only 1 inch.....ok what do you think...thanks

I'm 5'6", and I'm comfortable with a +1 and a set of low bend bars. A buddy of mine is probably close to 6'0", and he has a +2 with a set of CR High bend bars. It's way too tall for me. I feel like I don't have any control at all. Not sure if this helps you at all. If I were you, I would go with the +1. I think you will be happy.

i am 6' and i run the +2 inch taller stem and cr hi bars....

i ran the +1 last year and had to make spacers to get it higher...

my best friend that is 6'3" runs a + 2.5-3" stem....

So you should try the +1, and if its too low, try different bar bends or place thick washers under your bar clamps above the steering stem.

i,m 5'7 and i just installed a +1 with cr high bars and it feels ok. since you already have some bar risers, i say go with the +1 and if its not enough then add your risers. if you go with the +2 and it feels to high your stuck with it. hey jkiserracing, dont you race the sequads series? your user name lookd fimilier.

Thats probably a good idea to go ahead with the +1 first.......and yes I do race the sequads series.....unfortunately I broke my wrist at a practice track exactly 2 weeks before the first race at Millcreek so I missed the first one....I should make it to all the rest of them though......

I run a +2 +1 from Burgard and love it. I am right at 6' with riding boots on and I couldnt be happier. I also run CR-Hi bars.

ok whole new question on same subject:

I found a Lonestar +1 with clamp (ive decided to go with +1) from someone on here.......the only issue is that the stem has started to groove a little bit where the bushing was.....he and I have talked back and forth a few times about if there may be a solution.....what do you guys (and gals) think about using a little jb weld in the grooves and sand it back down smooth with emory cloth???? Is that a crazy idea or do you think it may work

take it to a reputable machine shop and see what they can do. specifically a shop that has experience with bikes and quads. maybe a special bushing can be made or have it welded and remachined.

hell...once you pack it with grease you should be good to go. THats what I would do.

buy a new stem.... you get what you pay for.... those grooves will cause slop in the steering front to back... why spend five hours with jb weld and emery cloth that you could spend riding>?
