got a new toy today
cannon eos 50d dont have a clue on how to work it yet
but it will be fun learning. took a cpl shots before i lost all the light

have alot to learn about settings and exposure
any tips would be great (pappy)
on the way home today took a few shots
cant go anywhere in n.y. without running into this

Read the manual...best tip I can give you

Then either read some books on basic photography or, if you can swing it, a local class at a community college will help immensly. Even joining a local photography club will help you gain advice with folks right there to help.

im sure ill be reading that manual cover to cover multiple times
first real camera ive ever owned

I agree here. Read it cover to cover. Also, try to pick up some basic photography books, they help a ton.

Edit: PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE
