Just wondering. I'm thinking about putting a 175 main in a 04 w/hrc kit and hmf bill ballance slip on with hrc lid on. Runs like crap w/ 195 main, 50 pilot, 2.5 turns and stock needle position. Is this going to be way too lean? Don't want to hurt the motor-it's just been rebuilt. It runs perfect w/ stock pipe w/ hrc tip but can't get past 80% throttle w/ hmf BB pipe.

runs like crap on top end or bottom end? is your carb in the boots all the way? did you quad sit for awhile when it was being rebuilt?

top end. 80% throttle and higher. Is it possible that i'm hitting the limiter? Shouldn't I be at WOT to hit the limiter?

sounds like it is to rich if it bubbles on top or cuts out. If it is poping on top it is too lean. try a smaller main jet and check your electrical connections on your carb.

I think it was too rich. I put a 175 in it and it ran much better but still with some sputtering. I've got a 170 in now and need to test that. What I don't understand is how it runs perfect w/ a 185 on the hrc exhaust tip and possibly a 170 w/ hmf BB carbon fiber slip. Can anyone explain.
