300ex cdi

my buddy has bought 2 cdi boxes and both broke rite away,split them in 2, what in the h$ll would cause it, didnt blow fuse either time,

the cdi boxes are different from 06 and up make sure your getting the cdi for the right year.

as far as i know he got the rite one but ill double check, but what causes them to burn up?

the 06 and under models have a separate reverse inhibitor unit for the 300ex. because of the new reverse setup in the 06 plus models the reverse inhibitor is removed and becomes part of the cdi unit.
you can compare at bikebandit.com just look up oem parts find the bike and look at both 06 and say 99 models wiring schematics and you'll see what i'm talking about!
