XR 650R Quad?????

I have a friend who owes me alot of cash!! he can not pay it back:mad: he lost his job of 21 yrs, wife left, he has it bad. so I let him side on the loan for about 9 months so far. Now he wants to trade me his Xr650R dirt bike 2001 ( I think), and I will give him alillte cash to boot. It would be a great deal for him, and atleast I would get paid.!! The bike is very clean and runs prefect, he is asking $3500 OBO.. I can get it alot cheaper. Sooooooooo..... Would that engine make a good woods, GNCC quad, for play riding??? I love tight trails, fire roads, and BIG hills. Is it hard to kick in a quad frame?? How much would a frame cost?? Thanks for info, I do not want the dirt bike, only want the engine and wiring.. so I could sell dirt bike frame on e bay. That 600r quad looked so sweet in Dirt wheels last month. Or should I keep waiting on Honda to build something:p :p Anybody have pics, that would help!!! Thanks.

there was a topic on this about 1 or 2 months ago. that would be a sweet setup i believe someone said the 650R motor stuck up to high to fit in a 400 frame but the 650L (think thats it) was short enough to fit but that would be good to help out your buddy and also settle the debt i also believe that engine would make a good quad for any type of rideing it has alot of power and torque:D

lol your realize by the time they got the 700 cc motor to fit in a quad that the quad would pry handle like crap?

:D Too old to race, but I like to go fast and act like we are racing. So the 440 cc limit does not effect me.. I want 450-550 atleast. Or make same frame and have two different engines.. one 440, and the other 550, 650???? Selling my Raptor now, it is alittle heavy and the 2001s have a few bugs in them. So I like ALOT of power, my 660r smokes alot of quads, it is NOT stock so it should. It has a JE piston kit, headwork, webb cam, alot of work done to it. so I need alot of hp to make me happy :D . i do not care to race anymore, because it cost so much, and you only get to ride for a few hrs. I can take the same gas money in my truck, and go on a weekend trip with my friends and play race for two days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its all good as long as you gas on it!!!!!!

Well actually I would want the 450 because there is now a new GNC Pro Production class and the limit is 450.

It has to be that "L" version or whatever for it to fit though doesn't it?:confused:

If I do this ,I will order a new custom frame,and use 400 ex bolt ons, fenders, arms, etc. Will have frame made for the xr650r engine. Around $2000-$2500 for frame only.
