ya, they are that much new, but you can get stuff cheap on ebay. you can find quiksilvers for about 400 or less some places, but they dont have all of the hardware that should come with them.

I paid like 450 for mine,,, BUT so far I love it.... If you use the thumb throttle,, it will be very stiff,, but I cut some of the spring of the carb itself and its perfect now,,, I love mine so far though...

You did not get ripped,,, FCR is a little better known name,,, but you can fine tune a Quicksilver much easier than a FCR,,,, Everybody on here that has a Quicksilver will probably tell you that you did not get ripped,,,they are great carbs,,, you got a great deal on it too...

I just paid $225 for a used one complete. Call Edlebrock when you get it, I received mine and turned right around and sent it out to Edlebrock. I am having them set it up for Twist Throttle and while they have it they are qoing to set it up with some new bearings that they are using in the new generation of carbs that should fix the problem with the stiffness in the throttle. Twist conversion including twist grip, cables and carb work: $75 Bearing Conversion: $19.95. Their Tech guys are pretty smart and very helpful. Give 'em a call:1-800-416-8628 opt 2.
