I got bored and I had tossed around multiple ideas of what to do with the quad before race season, so I finally decided on a few things. I polished the frame, had the subframe and swingarm done black, and installed some KX cams and am wiring in my skirtbike killswitch for my start button to get rid of the black box. I've still gotta get an intake and a PC3 quickly, then I'm gonna order the graphics later and I think I'm going to go with a white hood and underguard from TRP once I get everything else in. I wasn't going to do any motor work yet, but I decided I'd go ahead do it since I do race the thing and it couldn't hurt to have a little more balls to it.

It turned out very sharp. Did you clear the frame to keep it oxidizing? You have convinced me to put this on my list for next year. Just what I need more things for on the list :blah:

Thanks everyone. Although, you may want to reconsider trying it yourself unless you have unlimited time and patience. It took way more time and effort than I'd be willing to put forth again.

I used 400/600/800 grit dry sandpaper,
1000 wet, then had to hit the bigger parts of the frame with 120 grit wet because the aluminum was pitted so bad it looked terrible, then back with the 400/600/800/1000/and 2000 grit wet. I then used some Eagle 1 wadding polish on it. I could probably get it shinier on the big parts if I used a different kind of polish. I didn't clear coat it. If it starts looking like crap, or becomes too much of a pain in the *** to keep looking good, I'll just go have it powdercoated.
