hey,

i was just wondering if that plastic or rubber over the battery is really needed? (the little rubber sheet that goes over the battery and covers it up)

kinda a stupid question but who doesn't have it on?

thanks for replying

It keeps the mud away from the battery! If you need to do something to your battery on the trails it would be a lot easier without mud everywhere. I dosnt weigh enough for weight to be a problem either.

For racing you could, but I dont think it would matter that much.

1999 400ex didn't come with a rubber flap. I got a polished stainless steel battery box and stap for Christmas. I is very bling bling!
