i wouldnt use it or at least i didn't when i switched. From what I have read in the past they wont work together since the dj in a different shape but i am not sure otherwise. if you have your stock needle just pop it back in when it is apart. Otherwise you can try it and let us know. good luck steve

i would try to get one. you could try the dj and see if it works but it may get stuck in there. steve

that is what happened to me. I needed one that i did not have the right size and to buy them from dj was an arm and a leg. With shipping and everything it was quite a bit. My local shop had the right size keihin, but I have an 03 with the adjustable needle. I cant believe they did that when they put the new carb in the 05's and up. it was a big mistake for this reason. cant you get it where it needs to be with the stock position on the stock needle. I guess to get it exact it is nice to have it adjustable though. steve

I dont think it would. The new carbs are bigger than the old ones so it probably would not be long enough to work. Just an inkling though I guess. I am not sure on it. steve

Is there a better answer to this problem than just shimming the needle? That's what HMF suggests with their pipe, by the way... a .032" shim.

i guess unless you can get a different needle or use a jet kit needle with the kit jets. I am not really sure, steve
