I used the Kendall 10-40. I liked it but, switched to Mobil 1 15-50 because I've always used Mobil 1 in everything I've owned including the mower, both riding and push.

I use Mobil 1 10w40. Any gains by going to 20w50?

I have been told the thicker oil in high heat conditions keeps the oil cooler with less breakdown of the oil for air cooled engines. I am switching both my ex's to 20w50 amsoil for the summer.

penzoil or mobile one 10w40 most of the time and sometimes if i buy it i get 20w50 racing stuff for summer. never really gets that hot here though. 20w50 is thicker and can take more heat compared to the rest. it takes more to break down as Bigred said. I only get it if I know i will be riding for a long time on a hot day. steve

Thats the gold bottle right? I use Mobile 1 synthetic 15w50 (red bottle, only 5 bucks at walmart).. havent tried the extended performance yet...
Its only a few bucks more. Still half the price of the motorcycle Mobil 1 20w 50.

NACS turned me over to the 15w 50...

I run Royal Purple in my truck and probably will in the quad too when it's time to change it.

I cant buy the stuff off the shelf here anywhere. Its tough to get and I hate paying shipping on things like oil.

I'm going to switch to that once I finish my motor rebuild. I have heard a lot of good things about it.

I have seen some tests on all the synthetics and royal purple actually did not do that well at all

Even though its not what i use, amsoil is supposed to be the best.

I use what i use b/c thats what zrpilot told be to use when i bought his engine, as suggested by Laz Summers at Gt thunder. Before that though i used the amsoil, good stuff
