Coolant flow???

my buddy and I just installed a vapor computer on his trx450r. what I need to know is which hose the coolant goes into and which hose it comes out of. We mounted the temperature sensor on the upper rad hose on the left (sitting on the bike) side. but I have seen a lot of people on here with a temperature gauge on the lower rad hose on the right side. does the coolant go in the lower and out the upper or are we doing it right?

the coolant enters the engine on the lower tobe and exits into the radiator on the upper tube. you'll want to mount it on the upper one if you wanna know the temp of the coolant as it comes out of the engine.... which would be the right way to do it.

but why do people put them on the lower rad hose? doesn't make much sence.
