AMR stage 2 cdi

I bought the AMR stage 2 "rev box" from amrracing.com and when i bought it the page said it fit all years for the 300ex. So i got it, put it on, and started it up. I revved it up a bit and i instantly hit the rev limiter, i would actually say its was about the same limiter as reverese. i rode it and hit the limiter in everygear almost instantly after i shifted. I went in reverse and it had no limiter at all( or if it did, it was VERY high). I have sent them several emails and the only reply i kept getting was "you probably accidently switched out the reverese limiter box instead of the cdi box" he also said that both boxes look similar, so i went out to look, and NO WHERE on my four wheeler is another box that looks even similar to that. Did they change something for the 07 300ex's and went with a single box cdi instead of 2 seperate boxes? Sorry for a really long post, it was the only way i could explain what the real problem is.

Hi, i had a similar problem with my kids 04 300ex, we bought a new 07 300 and put the 04 CDI on it, and instantly blew it up.

It turns out that ricks sell a CDI for the 02-06 AND a 07-09, which is definetlt different, as far as a reverse limiter box.....i beleive someone is blowing smoke up someone's ........you get the drift.

So i bought a new 04 CDI for his MotoX 300 and a new 07 CDI for his GNCC 300, and both work great.

check and see if u put it on the reverse limiter box or the ignition, the reverse is the smaller one

I dont have 2 boxes on mine, mines an 07 and apparently they switched over to just one box that does both. and now i cant find a +1000 rpm cdi for that year.

Sorry, just remembered, i battled to find a box for my 2007 as well, located one at Big Gun, it is specifically for the 07-08, and i installed it last week, it makes a huge difference!

i have a 04 as well, i have never seen a reverse box limiter (maybe someone removed it before i bought it)

Do you remember the website you bought the big gun rev box off? because i even went directly to the big gun website i think it was like "biggunexhaust.com" or something like that and they only had the rev box for years 93-06 on the 300ex

I just went to bikebandit.com to see if they did change this and yes its true I'll put the links to both wiring diagram schematics for you guys to see.

#8 is the reverse inhibiter unit and yes it has been removed for 06 I think its because they redid the reverse setup and location:)
