300ex

Was riding my 300ex stopped to talk to a friend and it just quit running no warning or nothing just died and it will not start back.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what might of happened to it? Thanks

not getting air or gas? check the normal stuff first. its usually something simple.

Check for spark. If ur not getting any then there is your problem. Will it turn over? We need more info to help you out.

give it like a week, i bet u itll start back up, mine did the same thing i was cruisin along and then it died, would start, and came back to life a week later lol

thyman17 I had been ridding it for bout 3hrs was just playen around with it stopped on the trail and it just quit was running fine when it happened was like you turned the key off its getting gas and nothing blocking the air way it will crank until it runs the battery down but will not hit if the coil goes out on them will it do it all at once and if its not the coil is there anything else it could be

take the big plug that goes over the coil and smelll in there to see if it smells like fryed wires then if it doesnt its probllably the cdi box, unplug it and make sure theres no dirt in it, it could be the kill switch shorting out too.

Did you check for spark? Check that first otherwise it could be the kill switch shorting out. Check all the wires, I had this happen before i had been riding all day when all of a sudden it just quit and wouldnt start. It ended up being a broken flywheel key. I hope yours is an easy fix.

Finally got around to checking the spark on the 300ex and there is no spark coming from the coil at all. I have a 400ex can i take the coil off of it and check to see if it will start the 300ex

Check to make sure everything is grounded right and check the wiring. U can try the 400EX coil but im not sure if it is the same it might be... but im not 100% sure. It might be the trigger coil which is inside the case, check the kill switch and key switch. These can also make it not have spark. Hopefully you can get it fixed.

I really appreciate your help it was the kill swith causeing the problem. I changed it and it works fine now,been riden the heck out of it. now if I can find me some 450r front shocks for my 400ex I will be good. Again thanks for your help.
