Hi, I am Nelson, new to ATV but not to sand. I live in Dubai, UAE. I ride Yamaha WR450 and Honda CRF450 every weekend into open deserts of Arabia. I run a guided motorcycle tour company in Dubai.

Now my wife also got the bug, she wants to ride offroad. But she wants an automatic ATV. I saw a wolverine 450 in local dealership. The sales man talked great about that.

She will not race or ride very aggressively. I want to get your opinion on the machine for average desert dune riding.
Or recommend a good Auto ATV for sand dune ride.

Thanks

Nelson :)

Not sure if you have Polaris over there. Polaris 4x4 500 Scrambler is the perfect atv for a woman in sand. Kinda sporty looking, plenty of power, automatic, smooth suspension and with push button 4x4 never get stuck.

With a bigger heavier 4x4 atv you need bigger paddle tires. We have 22x12x9 9 paddle skat trak haulers on our 500 scrambler and it does great. I have friends that have smaller paddles on there scramblers and ours always does better.

I have ridden one very little on dirt.

Buddy of mine that has a 500 scrambler also. He test drove a 700 and he was very disappointed he said he didn't think it was much faster then the 500 and lacked 4x4 option.

you could go with any of the honda utility quads. Most of them have 4 wheel drive/automatic shifting/ and a bunch of different power options.
