steering stem bearing ???

noticed when i put the bearing in the bottom it has side to side slop wondering it anyone else has had this problem and what they did to correct it. I am thinking of just shimming the bearing

sounds like you have the wrong bearing. I've replaced steering stem bearings on each of 6 sport quads I've owned and never had that happen. I always had to tap the bearing in place with the appropriate sized socket to make sure it didn't damage anything.

its the right bearing goes in snug at the top but once it is in it moves around think it is wore inside i have shattered a bearing or shall i say two in there so i think that is what wore
