Its not hard at all. I got the renthal twinwall bars and trail tech clamp combo. It come with a plastic piece to mount your key/lights in. You can find it at motosport.com for 169.99.

Here it is mounted on my bike.

I've got the Pro Taper SE's, and I just bought the Mod Quad bar clamp. If memory serves it's like $45 or so from Motosport.

I dont know much people on here that have renthal twinwalls. Racerdan pointed me toward them. I've rolled it twice since tweaking my old bars, but these bars still haven't bent. Just a steering stem.

Suicide-I have the same fuel cap. Does yours leak if you stand you bike up? I stood mine up to hose it off and it leaked badly. I was going to buy the Rock fuel cap, but that seemed to be the common complaint was that it leaked. So I bought the Turner and same issue.

I had Pro Taper SE's on my EX before I swapped them for Pro Taper Contours and I really liked them. Stong bars are not always good. As someone mentioned above they didn't bend there bars but they bent there stem. Its a lot cheaper to replace a set of $30 bars then $100 stem.

I have a question... Do you have to do this with all aftermarket bars, or just when stepping up to 1 1/8" bars?

I took that pic right after putting my housers on. So the alignment is off in the pic. I had a ton of camber.

You ever heard of ebay. I bought a perfectly fine stock stem for 50 bucks shipped. If you got weak bars they'll bend with the slightest roll over. My bike took a mean tumble to bend that stem. All the other little tumbles I had would have bent every pair of "weak" bars.

I have the Trail Tech X-Bars on mine (1 1/8") and they've held up really well. They're on they're 3rd steering stem and the bars are still straight.

The key is on the front side of the clamp. You just can't see it in the pic. It's a pretty nice set-up.

Are there any special considerations to consider when purchasing handguards for aftermarket bars? Do some not fit?

Biggest problem is having enough room for everything....i took mine off because the Rnthal bars, clutch, brake and stock kill switch did not allow enough room to mount my guards back on.
