question about 450r

i don't know much about 450r's, i was thinking of possibly getting one in the future.

i have had people tell me that you have to rebuild the top end every 30 hours.

is this true?

yes and no, depends how you ride and your maintenance habits. Mine has 30 plus hours and not a single valve was out of spec.

I change oil (s) and air filter after EVERY ride.

I love my 450r, and I too debated the same as you on if I wanted to buy one or not, read all of the horror stories, etc.

Look for my post "my 450r experience" and there is some good feedback from 450 owners, hope it helps you.

Dependability is a 400EX without a doubt.
A 450R will cost you more in the long, but the power is not replaceable for me.
