Checking oil levels

When you check the oil, are you supposed to screw the dipstick in all the way to get accurate oil readings? or just put it in till the threads hit and then take it back out?

The manual says not to screw it in, just insert it until it stops and then pull it back out.

Alright thanks... I dont have the manual, quad didnt come with it (bought used)... can I download it off the honda site?
