ok will a yz450 cylinder work on a yz426 motor. bore is the same so what is different and can it be made work without a lot of work. a new yz426 cylinder is $367 and a new yz450 cylinder is $211.

Yes it will work I have a 450 cylinder and head on my 426 bottom end right now.

I have a perfect stock 450 cylinder for sale.... PM me if interested

same cylinder will work just slap it on,many will tell you it will not work but it will.

i know this is an old post but will the 426 head work with the 450 cylinder? and what year 450 cylinder do you use?

no. 426 cylinder has to have 426 head. and 450 cylinder has to have 450 head.

damn, my head is ported already, what about stroker cranks?

That, I have no idea. The crank in my motor has a 63.4 stroke, which is what the 06+ yfz's had, to make 449 cc instead of the older 439. But, it says Hot Rods on it, and the wrist pin is an 18mm instead of 20mm so it as to be a WR.

Anyway to answer your question, no clue lol.
