chain protection with no swingarm skid?

I've seen pictures of quads on this site where they have no swing arm skid plate but they have what looks like a brake disc which is right beside the back sprocket but it sticks out far enough that it protects the chain and sprocket from rocks and stuff. anybody know what this is? how much? where can i get one?

The guy is selling a "rock ring" i guess. Idk if it fits on your bike but im pretty sure that is what your talking about right? well it doesnt look like anyone bought it so you should make an offer.

thats it now i need to know if 300ex and z400 sprockets are interchangeable any ideas?
