fender painting

anyone have any tips or pointers?? I'm guessing my best bet is to save up for a new set of plastic, but any advice is appreciated................

i have seen alot of quads that were painted but i havent seen any 400ex painted. i could be wrong but here is what im thinking, 400ex fenders are made to have alot of movement in them so they dont break, other quads plastics are more stiff. so if you would paint them, they would more than likely chip. one of my buddies just painted his blaster and all he did was just sand the plastic down real good and painted it, it looks real good and is holding up good so far too.

I have done it with Krylon Fusion paint but in the end I replaced the plastics. I painted mine black and my front was yellow and my red was rear when I got it. The black looked GREAT but every time I got a scratch on it then you could see the color of the plastics.

Did look good for a while though and cheaper than new plastics

Take your time and do a good job and follow up the paint with a GOOD clear coat and you will be ok for a while
