well finally hit the bed.... just wonderin should i get je or wiseco 13:1... and would i have to rejet when this is done...and any other suggestions i should do.. 480 big bore?? i kno im going hot cam stage 2...

id get a JE, but if money is tight just bore it without high compression and run pump gas.

+3mm cp 12:5:1 if you dont wana run race gas and a cylinderworks/athena big bore cylinder with head gaskets,and if you have the money a ported head and that baby will scream!!!

maybe i will bore it... wht size piston should i go to if i do tht.. and its an 05...money is pretty tight got 300 to spend..unless i hit the lottery... i will be racing mx and wonderin if hotcam stage 2 would be good too..ide like to run pump gas too

umm if you wana bore it and buy a piston $300 aint gona cut it.
its about $200 or more to bore it and replate it,another $45 for 480 gaskets and another $180-225ish for a 3+mm(480)piston depends what kind you get,personally i think cp is best,best shelf piston atleast.or you could buy a cylinder works 480kit like i did,got it for $440.95 shiped and thats a whole bolt on kit with piston,cylinder,and gaskets.and yes hotcams stage two would make a very noticable diference if you have a stock cam now.and if you wana run pump gas its recomended to stay at or under 12:5:1 compresion. so if you say it blew up what exactly hapened?

yes, if you "blew it up" what do you mean? have you torn it down yet? usually when 05's "blow" it is a crank/bearing in which your looking at a bottom end rebuild which is going to be a gangload more than 300....

i got so lucky the rings and piston went....i was always scared tht the crank would go threw the side wall.. it burnt up the rings not too bad the side walls are still good...i got lucky thts all i know.. i just dno wht i wanna do since im already tore down.. why not beef it out more.. it is a stock cam now too.. i cant aford the 480 i kno tht but how is the 469cc...

If your running the stock cam upgrade that before you go BB.

Can get a used cam for $75-100 and a brand new CP or JE 12:1 piston for $150.

BB kit will cost you close to $500

Plus with the stock cam you will hinder the gains of the larger bore.

well i planned on getting hot cam stage 2... just gonna buy it all together just need to figure out wht piston and stuff i want.. BB good for track or no?

what it sounds like you need to do with what kinda budjet your on if you can atleast is get a cp 12:5:1 compresion piston and a hotcams stage 2,and i imagine you already have a nice exhaust right?and id say big bore would work good but you would wana go to tremendously big though but thats just imo,you can make plenty power stock stroke/bore for mx if you do it right. either way cost LOTSA money!!!

JE is by far hands down the best brand of piston on the market. i use one in my quad. and install JE pistons in all of my customer engines ranging from quads to Sprint Cars

the performance shop around here recomends cp(aparently lil lighter too) and they seem to know bad stories about JE,but to each his own...he'll more than likely be happy with either

yeah venoms got good pistons lol they get them made by CP just they have theyre own specifications etc on how they get CP to make them.and if he aint going race gas he dont need nothing more than a shelf piston plus a shelf piston is cheaper.
