need to change chain and sprockets, so which ones? how long should the chain be, or how many links? Is a chain with a master link and clip better or the other style which requires a chain breaker?

opinions/thoughts on sprockets as well.

Master link chains are far more convenient. I have had really good luck with renthal front sprockets and their rear aluminum ones hold up better than cheap steel sprockets. RK chains stretch alot more than I prefer

Dude for convience a master link is awesome. A good X-Ring chain, By a solid manufacturer. I bought one of those primary drive ones from RM ATV... SH***Y.. Lasted a year.
Gearing depends on what kinda riding you do. I do alot of trails so i wanted low end 12Tooth front, 42 Rear

damm! you run 12 tooth front with a 450kit? I run 15 front with 20in rear holeshots but will go down to 14 with new rears when I decide what tires to get they are so expensive now.but you got a 450 kit in you can go up a tooth or two 12 tooth must be a torque monster I had 13 front was too much torque for sport tires unless you run heavy mud tires like sharks, mudmachines that are 6-ply and heavy if you run holeshot, razors cant see going lower than 13 in front but the 12 must climb hills awesome though!

Primary Drive, I had zero issues with the chain or front sprocket. I run a JT rear. current gearing is 13/39 with the 440 kit.
