Fan

Hey me and my buddy wemt riding yesturday and all of a sudden his fan won't stop running. We even let it cool off and then it still stays on??? Any help would be apreciated

There are 2 thermal switches mounted in the radiator. I believe one is a warning light that lets you know your hot and the other actually turns the fan on. Pretty easy to test if you have a continuity tester (multimeter). Just unplug the wires from the switches and measure across the terminals of the switch. When its cold they should be open, no continuity. When the water temperature gets to a certain temperature they close and I don't know what that temp is off my head. I'd rather have it stuck on then not come on!
