vin question

i know a guy that has a good bike that i would like to buy. but he bought it at an auction and didn't get a title. and there is no keys. i know that he didn't steal it. i have tried many online sites trying to run the vin and they have all came back clean. should i have the local police run the vin. i can get it titled through its-titles.com i have used they in the past and it worked fine. just curious. thnks

its always best to have the cops run the vin if your concerned, saves you alot of headaches down the road...

I had that same problem with a dirt bike I bought for my son. I had the county sheriff run the vin for me. My sister is a county sheriff so......................I had no problem with it!:devil:
