I was just thinking... There are a lot of Cannondale rollers out there for sale. I've seen some YZ426/Cannondale hybrids, as well as other engines in Dale frames. Dose anyone have info on what is entailed in fab'ing a 426 or CRF into a Dale frame?

It's a rather simple conversion. A new lower engine cradle needs to be made and new motor mounts.

Call JB, they made one of these with a YZ426.

Personally I'd like to see one done with a CRF motor (especially a 2009).

And with the Walsh 250R conversion kit for plastic, etc.

I believe the 09 motor would actually be an easier swap ( maybe not the electrical) but overall the motor is alot shorter now.

Honestly it would proboly be a very easy swap, a smaller motor so less space issues and just get the electrical harness from a crf and all the sensors and stuff and your set. It may help that the dale was efi already, im not sure tho

Thats alot of electrical to take care of. Props to you if you can pull it off. It will be a first.

There was a guy who put efi from an 09 on a trx. he said it was a fairly simple swap

Not a Hybrid but maybe someday it would make a great crf donor. Just finished building this last week, this was round one at the track. Went really well.

HI.
WE DONE A CANNONDALE WITH A KTM 300 WORKS PERFECT LT500R MOTOR AND A HUSABERG 501 .
HUSABERG WAS EASY SWAP TO DO SPROCKET ON SAME SIDE AND IT FIT IN AT THE BACK BETWEEN THE SWINGARM MOUNT WITH NO MOD. THE KTM LC4 MOTOR WILL WORK THE SAME SPROKET ON LEFT SIDE
HUSABERG 501 MOTOR VERY FAST.
THE AIR INTAKE JUST TOOK SOME TIME.

How is the vibration on the ktm 300? Everyone says that bike motors shake to much in atv frames, but i wonder how much is from hands on knowledge. Id like to install a yz 250 engine in a 400ex chassis but wonder if it would shake to bad and how the gearing would work out?

THE VIBTATION NOW IS 1/2 WHAT IT WAS WITH CANNONDALE MOTOR . 300 AND 250S HAVE LOW VIBRATION. STAY AWAY FROM 500 2 STOKES

thats good to hear. is first gear really tall or top gear relly short ? Thats the one other thing that keeps me from trying it. Ive heard its hard to get dirtbike engines geared correctly in an atv chassis.

2 strokes do not have balanced cranks. Thats why the vibration is such a big deal.

No the reason these motors vibrate is actually due to being non counterbalanced. Not the crank being balanced. The TRX250R Has a counterbalancer so vibration would be no issue with it. The vast majority of Dirtbike motors normally do not have a counterbalancer.
