Measuring Oil properly?

i'm wondering how you measure oil in a 300/250X with an oil cooler.

Some say let it idle for 5 mins, then check it....is this right?

Dont' know what it should measure but yes you need to let the motor warm up before checking oil levels..that goes for all thumpers..:square

yep let her warm up for a min. or two. i know on the honda's you pull the dipstick out, wipe it off, then put the dipstick back in but do not skrew it back in. just stick it in for a second or two and pull it out and get your reading.
