Hello exriders!

After riding my friend's 2004 5 weeks ago in the snow, I finally knew...I MUST HAVE ONE! I have ridden other 4-wheelers before in the past (BlasterS, WarriorS) This is my very first ATV,

2001 yellow 400 ex. In 2007, the following work was done:
440 stroker kit
new crank, chain, tensioners, clutch, gaskets, oil pump and filter. ($1900 job)

I absolutely L O V E this, it has wayyyyy more power than I think I ever need. I would like to fix up the front end some; 450r shocks, bushings, a-arms, etc. I ride mostly on the trails in the woods, rode twice for a few hours.
Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated. I will list my mods below in my sig:

thanks! :)

I think I need boots, and a chest protector.
So far, I have:

AXO helmet (had a $299 tag) - paid 99
Scott Voltage Pro googles - paid 30
Fox gloves - paid 20

I do believe the stage IV pipe is a trinity racing pipe, very nice system. If I were you I would get some front tires. they look better, help your handling big time, and makes the bike a lot safer on the trails.

nice looking bike!
ride it like you stole it!

Oh yes...boots will definitely help.....Then head to the tire section and you should be good to go for a whille.....

also bro if your gonna be riding trails might want to invest in a front bumper first and foremost, not having a front bumper is asking for some stuff to get banged up and trashed

thanks for the welcomes, guys! :D

i'm getting ready to buy a DG bumper. today i got a sweet deal on MSR shirt and pants. still looking for a set of boots...

i also got a 6 pack of red oil filters (not sure what brand?) ,new set of stock tie rods, new set of rear brake pads, and a msr shorty clutch lever. this modifying stuff is starting to get addictive!

quick question, what oil do you guys use? do i have to go with bike shop oil, or will car motor oil from walmart do?:D

stick with oil that is made for motorcycles and Atv's, these oil's are made for wet clutch's. i use honda HP4 which is honda's full synthetic.

and the modifying stuff is a disease call A.A.D.S. its very contagious and has no cure

Welcome to the disease:devil:

HP4 is only a semi synthetic FYI, it's not a true full synthetic. Notice it says synthetic/petroleum blend

I prefer full synthetics myself. I use Shell Rotella T 5w40 and Mobil 1 15w50, both of which are safe for wet clutch use. The HP4 isn't bad stuff, I used to run it...but there's better full syns out there for much cheaper.

I'm using Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10w40 which is their synthetic made for 4-stroke bikes with wet clutches. They also make Mobil 1 V-twin 20w50.

It's a lot easier to come by than AMSoil, most every AutoZone store carries it.

did the much needed oil change, we decided to stick with stock red bottle HONDA GN4 oil. The old oil was BLACK. what oil filters do you guys recommend?

not looking for the metal filters...

thanks, i just got a full set of black ITP pro t-9 GNCC Holeshot front and rears wheels/tires...theyre freakin' awesome!!

i also got a set of fox boots, i found out they are water proof, but if water goes up pass the top, then they fill up, and makes walking feel very heavy.
